Terms of Service

1. Overview

Hot Seat is a waitlist management and skip-the-line pass platform for restaurants and events. By using our service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Accounts

Organizer accounts (restaurants, event hosts) require authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

Guest users (customers joining waitlists or purchasing passes) do not need an account but must provide accurate contact information.

3. Skip Passes & Event Passes

  • Skip passes grant priority positioning on a restaurant's waitlist. They do not guarantee a specific wait time or immediate seating.
  • Event passes grant priority entry to events. They do not guarantee admission if the venue reaches capacity.
  • Passes are non-transferable and valid only for the specific restaurant visit or event for which they were purchased.
  • Pricing is set by the venue and may vary.

4. Refund Policy

Refunds are handled as follows:

  • Restaurant Skip Passes: Refunds are available if the restaurant closes the waitlist before you are seated, or if the venue cancels operations for the evening. No refunds are issued for no-shows or voluntary cancellations after purchase.
  • Event Passes: Refunds are available if the event is cancelled by the organizer. No refunds are issued for no-shows. Organizer-initiated postponements will result in your pass being valid for the new date.
  • To request a refund, contact us at support@hotseat.app within 48 hours.

5. For Organizers

  • Hot Seat charges a 10% platform fee on all pass sales. The remaining 90% is paid out to your connected Stripe account.
  • You are responsible for honoring skip passes and priority passes purchased by your customers.
  • You must not misrepresent wait times, availability, or the benefits of purchasing a pass.
  • Hot Seat reserves the right to suspend or terminate organizer accounts that violate these terms or receive excessive customer complaints.

6. Prohibited Use

  • Do not use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Do not attempt to access another user's account or data.
  • Do not abuse the waitlist system (e.g., joining multiple waitlists simultaneously to hold positions).
  • Do not resell or transfer passes.

7. Limitation of Liability

Hot Seat provides a technology platform connecting customers with venues. We are not responsible for the quality of service at any restaurant or event, wait times, capacity issues, or any disputes between customers and venues. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific pass in question.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify organizers of material changes via email.
