When you use Hot Seat, we may collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and authentication data when you create an organizer account.
  • Waitlist Information: Name, phone number, and party size when you join a restaurant waitlist.
  • Payment Information: Payment details are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
  • Event Information: Email address and phone number when you purchase event passes.
  • Usage Data: Basic analytics about how you interact with the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To manage your waitlist position and send notifications when your table is ready.
  • To process skip pass and event pass purchases.
  • To send confirmation emails and SMS notifications related to your bookings.
  • To provide organizers with waitlist management tools.
  • To improve our services and user experience.

3. SMS Communications

By providing your phone number when joining a waitlist, you consent to receive SMS messages related to your waitlist status, including notifications when your table is ready. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by leaving the waitlist.

4. Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe. Your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We retain transaction records (amount paid, date, pass details) but never store your credit card information.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Restaurant/Event Organizers: Your name, party size, and waitlist status are shared with the venue you join.
  • Service Providers: Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), Resend (email), and Supabase (data storage) process data on our behalf.

6. Data Retention

Waitlist data is retained for operational purposes and may be deleted after 90 days. Account data is retained until you request deletion. Payment records are retained as required by law.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. If you are in the EU, you have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to object to processing.
